Cambodia.
I've swapped Australia's dry heat to rain season in Cambodia. It's amazing! Eventually something new and exciting!
We started of in Phnom Penh, the capital, and stayed there for four nights. The guest house was alright, the room wasn't a dream but the roof top bar was a big plus. We tried to do the "must do" touristy stuff but we only managed the royal palace, the national museum and the killing fields. The royal palace was a bit of a disappointment, the fee was 6$ each and we could basically just see the yard. The museum was alright, but because of Cambodia's vicious past they only have a couple of broken statues. Of course the killing fields weren't fun but I think it's something that one should see if one goes to Cambodia.
After Phnom Penh we went to Sihanoukville, a city on the coast. It's an alright town but it's rather full of tourists. We met a nice German girl with who we went to Koh Rong, a paradise island two hours from Sihanoukville.
Since it's rain period it was raining cats and dogs all the time, but we still had a good time, met nice people and ate tasty food. The first night we met a Pommey who told us about fluorescent algae so we went for a night swim. The water around us was shining with green light as soon as someone moved. We tried to take some pictures but no, you have to experience things like that.
Now we're back in Sihanoukville, we will be stuck here for a few days for various reasons. After that we'll go back to Phnom Penh, Bernie is so keen on shooting with an AK47. I'll tell you more about that when we've actually done it!
The connection is to bad for uploading pictures, sorry about that.
